TOURIST ETAIn Kenya an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is required for travel. There is an online application process, which we will give you a detailed walk-thru on during an upcoming info call. More details to follow via email. Cost is approximately $35 USD.

MEDICATION/VACCINATION Yellow Fever Vaccine: ONLY if you are coming from a country with a Yellow Fever endemic, you are required to have a Yellow Fever vaccination. View the list of endemic countries -

Malaria Medication: Not required. From the CDC website, "CDC recommends that travelers going to certain areas of Kenya take prescription medicine to prevent malaria. Depending on the medicine you take, you will need to start taking this medicine multiple days before your trip, as well as during and after your trip. Talk to your doctor about which malaria medication you should take."

βοΈ BOOKING FLIGHTS & MAKING TRAVEL PLANS- Please make sure when booking your travel, you arrive into Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Intl on or before Feb. 11th. (Airport code: NBO). Keep in mind depending on where you live, it can take up to 30 hours to arrive in Nairobi. (If you arrive in Nairobi before June 11th or stay after the night of June 18th, you are responsible for your own accommodations.)
- We ask that you share your flight details with us by April 1st so the hotel can arrange your airport pickup transportation.

CANCELLED/MISSED FLIGHT INFOIf you miss your flight or experience travel delays and miss the caravan to the Masai Mara on June 13th, the Safari company will have to send a separate vehicle to pick you up to join up with the group. Please note that if this happens, your transport to the Masai Mara will be an extra charge paid by you, outside of any of the other trip fees.
TRANSPORTATION DURING TRIP- Getting To and From Airport - Travel to and from the Nairobi airport will be provided by the Serena Hotel. More information will be available closer to the trip.
- Getting To and From Masai Mara - Travel to and from the Masai Mara will be a 5-hour trip in an open air Land Cruiser.

πΊοΈ ADDITIONAL TRAVEL DETAILSMOBILE PHONE DURING TRIP- International Mobile Plan - You must be able to use your cell phone and have access to WIFI in Nairobi for communication during the trip. (We will be inviting all members of the group to a special WhatsApp group for communication during the trip.) For most phone plans, this means getting an additional international plan added.

- Coming from Other Countries - For Kenya the associated plug type is G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. Kenya operates on a 240V supply voltage and 50Hz.

π THE LITTLE THINGS- It's a good idea to inform your bank ahead of time that you'll be traveling to avoid declined charges.
- You'll want to have at least $500 US equivalent in cash for use during the trip. We recommend getting cash at home before your trip. All airports have exchange centers too.
- Have at least 2 credit cards with you if you can, just in case there's any trouble charging a card.
- Tipping is optional but is very much appreciated in a country where pay is very low. This is a generous way to give to the people of Kenya and make an impact during your trip.
